3rd Bass' debutstudiealbum, The Cactus Album blev udgivet den 23. september 1989 via Def Jam Recordings. Albummet blander old-school 80'er-hiphop med en frisk 90'er-lyd. Det indeholder numre som “The Gas Face”, “Step Into The Area” og flere. Det kritikerroste album viser ikke kun 3rd Bass' lyriske geni, men styrker også deres status som en betydelig indflydelse i hiphoppens historie. The Cactus Album er nu tilgængelig på en Emerald 2LP.
