The Sound Of Vinyl - Shop Vinyl Records | The Sound of Vinyl

Produktdetaljer

Denne deluxe-udgave indeholder det remasterede originale album i fuld længde, skåret ved halv hastighed af Miles Showell i Abbey Road Studios, og er et kompendium af tidlige demospor fra albummets indspilning samt sjældenheder fra singlerne oprindeligt udgivet på albummet - "Both Sides of the Story," "Everyday" og "We Wait and We Wonder." BOTH SIDES (ALL THE SIDES) samler hele dette udvalg med live-numre fra æraen, såsom "Can’t Turn Back the Years," "Both Sides of the Story" fra Collins’ MTV Unplugged-optræden, "Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore" og mere, som én udgivelse for første gang på vinyl. Sættet er pakket i en slipcase med billedcovere og en 16-siders boglet med nyskrevet og omfattende liner notes af den anerkendte journalist Michael Hann.

Wasn't sure the demos would justify a whole box, but they're genuinely worth it — rough takes of tracks I've known for years sound completely different here. The pressing itself is dead quiet, flat and clean across all five records. Packaging held up fine in shipping too.

The half-speed mastering by Miles Showell is no joke — the acoustic tracks sound like the band is sitting in my living room. Five LPs is a lot to flip through, but the demo takes make it worth the effort.

Julian ★★★★★

Didn't expect the demo tracks to hit this hard — hearing the songs take shape before they were finished is the real draw here. The half-speed cut is dead quiet, and the box itself feels sturdy enough to actually use instead of just shelving.
