The Beach Boys Sail On Sailor kollektionen fejrer de skelsættende album fra 1972, Carl and The Passions og Holland. Inkluderer omfattende liner notes og den originale Mount Vernon and Fairway 7-tommers EP fra Holland, som ikke har været tilgængelig på vinyl siden 1970'erne. Begge album er fuldt remastered.
The 7-inch with "Mount Vernon and Fairway" is the reason I grabbed this — I never thought a little fairy-tale EP would end up being my favorite part. The liner notes are thick and full of photos, so you actually get context while flipping through. Packaging arrived flat with no bent corners.
The Holland album never sounded this warm on my old copy, and the liner notes are genuinely worth reading cover to cover. Having both 1972 records plus that extra 7-inch in one set makes it an easy pickup.
The Mount Vernon demo on the 7-inch sounds warmer than I expected, and the liner notes actually gave me context I didn't have before. The pressing is clean and flat too, no warping at all.
