The Sound Of Vinyl - Shop Vinyl Records | The Sound of Vinyl

Tuotetiedot

Tämä deluxe-painos sisältää uudelleenmasteroidun täyden alkuperäisen albumin, jonka Miles Showell on leikannut puolinopeudella Abbey Road Studiosilla, ja se on kokoelma varhaisia demoäänityksiä albumin nauhoituksista sekä harvinaisuuksia albumin singleiltä - "Both Sides of the Story", "Everyday" ja "We Wait and We Wonder." BOTH SIDES (ALL THE SIDES) kokoaa tämän täyden kokoelman yhteen live-äänitteiden kanssa ajalta, kuten "Can’t Turn Back the Years", "Both Sides of the Story" Collinsin MTV Unplugged -esiintymisestä, "Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore" ja lisää, ensimmäistä kertaa yhtenä julkaisuna vinyylillä. Kokoelma on pakattu suojakoteloon kansikuvineen ja 16-sivuisen vihkon kanssa, joka sisältää vasta kirjoitetut ja laajat kansitekstit arvostetulta toimittajalta Michael Hannilta.

Wasn't sure the demos would justify a whole box, but they're genuinely worth it — rough takes of tracks I've known for years sound completely different here. The pressing itself is dead quiet, flat and clean across all five records. Packaging held up fine in shipping too.

The half-speed mastering by Miles Showell is no joke — the acoustic tracks sound like the band is sitting in my living room. Five LPs is a lot to flip through, but the demo takes make it worth the effort.

Julian ★★★★★

Didn't expect the demo tracks to hit this hard — hearing the songs take shape before they were finished is the real draw here. The half-speed cut is dead quiet, and the box itself feels sturdy enough to actually use instead of just shelving.
