The Beach Boys Sail On Sailor -kokoelma juhlistaa merkittäviä vuoden 1972 albumeja Carl and The Passions ja Holland. Sisältää laajat kansitekstit ja alkuperäisen Mount Vernon and Fairway 7 tuuman EP:n Holland-albumilta, jota ei ole ollut saatavana vinyylinä 1970-luvun jälkeen. Molemmat albumit on täysin uudelleenmasteroitu.
The 7-inch with "Mount Vernon and Fairway" is the reason I grabbed this — I never thought a little fairy-tale EP would end up being my favorite part. The liner notes are thick and full of photos, so you actually get context while flipping through. Packaging arrived flat with no bent corners.
The Holland album never sounded this warm on my old copy, and the liner notes are genuinely worth reading cover to cover. Having both 1972 records plus that extra 7-inch in one set makes it an easy pickup.
The Mount Vernon demo on the 7-inch sounds warmer than I expected, and the liner notes actually gave me context I didn't have before. The pressing is clean and flat too, no warping at all.
