Debuutstudioalbum van 3rd Bass, The Cactus Album werd uitgebracht op 23 september 1989 via Def Jam Recordings. Dit album combineert old-school 80s hiphop met een frisse 90s sound. Het bevat nummers als “The Gas Face”, “Step Into The Area” en meer. Het veelgeprezen album toont niet alleen het lyrische talent van 3rd Bass, maar bevestigt ook hun status als belangrijke invloed in de geschiedenis van de hiphop. The Cactus Album is nu verkrijgbaar als Standard Black 2LP.
