Boys Don't Cry (86 Mix / 2026 Remaster) (CD-single)

The Cure brengen de 1986-mix van "Boys Don’t Cry" uit, die voor het eerst digitaal beschikbaar wordt gemaakt ter gelegenheid van het 40-jarig jubileum. Oorspronkelijk uitgebracht als een losse
single in de zomer van 1979, werd "Boys Don’t Cry" de titeltrack van de Amerikaanse editie van het debuutalbum van de band, THREE IMAGINARY BOYS.
Het nummer groeide uit tot een van de kenmerkende nummers van de band en behaalde internationaal succes in 1986, toen Robert Smith de vocalen opnieuw opnam en de achtergrondtrack remixte. Hoewel deze nieuwe versie is gemaakt om de verzamelbundel STARING AT THE SEA – THE SINGLES te promoten, bevatte de LP zelf de originele opname, en de 7-inch versie van "Boys Don’t Cry" (New Voice – New Mix), nu hertiteld als "Boys Don’t Cry" (86 Mix), wordt voor het eerst uitgebracht als cd-single. "Boys Don’t Cry" (86 Mix), de 12” mix en de B-kanten, "Plastic Passion," "Pillbox Tales," en "Do The Hansa" zijn geremasterd door Matt Colton.

The song went on to become one of the band’s signature tracks and achieved international success in 1986, when Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track. Although this new version was created to promote the best of collection STARING AT THE SEA – THE SINGLES, the LP itself featured the original recording, and the 7-inch version of "Boys Don’t Cry" (New Voice – New Mix), now retitled "Boys Don’t Cry" (86 Mix), is being released for the first time ever as a CD single. "Boys Don’t Cry" (86 Mix), the 12” mix, and the B-Sides, "Plastic Passion," "Pillbox Tales," and "Do The Hansa" have been remastered by Matt Colton.
