The Beach Boys Sail On Sailor คอลเลกชันนี้เฉลิมฉลองอัลบั้มสำคัญในปี 1972 อย่าง Carl and The Passions และ Holland รวมถึงบันทึกย่ออย่างละเอียดและอีพีขนาด 7 นิ้วต้นฉบับ Mount Vernon and Fairway จาก Holland ซึ่งไม่มีจำหน่ายในรูปแบบแผ่นเสียงไวนิลตั้งแต่ช่วงปี 1970 อัลบั้มทั้งสองได้รับการรีมาสเตอร์อย่างสมบูรณ์
The 7-inch with "Mount Vernon and Fairway" is the reason I grabbed this — I never thought a little fairy-tale EP would end up being my favorite part. The liner notes are thick and full of photos, so you actually get context while flipping through. Packaging arrived flat with no bent corners.
The Holland album never sounded this warm on my old copy, and the liner notes are genuinely worth reading cover to cover. Having both 1972 records plus that extra 7-inch in one set makes it an easy pickup.
The Mount Vernon demo on the 7-inch sounds warmer than I expected, and the liner notes actually gave me context I didn't have before. The pressing is clean and flat too, no warping at all.
