Szczegóły produktu

Dostępny po raz pierwszy od prawie 50 lat
Przeniesiony z oryginalnych półcalowych czterokanałowych taśm matrycowych
Blu-ray z rozdzielczością 192/24 w wersji kwadrofonicznej oraz hi-res stereo

Dźwięk kwadrofoniczny, czyli surround 4.0, wykorzystuje cztery kanały audio podłączone do czterech głośników rozmieszczonych w rogach przestrzeni odsłuchowej. Wielościeżkowe nagranie jest miksowane w sposób przestrzenny, zanurzając słuchacza w rozległym pejzażu dźwiękowym.

Album Roberty Flack z 1973 roku, KILLING ME SOFTLY, został zadedykowany jazzowemu multiinstrumentaliście Rahsaanowi Rolandowi Kirkowi. Ten podwójnie platynowy album zawierał popularny utwór tytułowy, który zdobył nagrodę Grammy® w kategorii Piosenka Roku w 1974 roku, oraz cover „Suzanne” Leonarda Cohena.

The 192/24 quad transfer is the reason to get this — the four-channel mix spreads the vocals and strings in a way the stereo version never does. I finally feel like I'm hearing a record that's been sitting in the vault for decades the way it was meant to sound.

I've been waiting years to hear this mix, and the 192/24 quadraphonic transfer doesn't disappoint — the rear channels open up in a way the old stereo version never did. The clarity on the acoustic guitar is genuinely startling for a recording this old.

The quad mix on this one actually puts you in the middle of the band instead of just spreading things left and right, which is exactly what I hoped for. Only gripe is I had to dig through my receiver menu to get the four-channel output set up right. The 192/24 transfer sounds clean, no hiss or mud.
