Dostępny po raz pierwszy od prawie 50 lat
Przeniesiony z oryginalnych półcalowych czterokanałowych taśm matkowych
Blu-ray z dźwiękiem kwadrofonicznym 192/24 oraz hi-res stereo

Dźwięk kwadrofoniczny, czyli 4.0 surround, wykorzystuje cztery kanały audio podłączone do czterech głośników umieszczonych w rogach przestrzeni odsłuchowej. Wielościeżkowy dźwięk jest miksowany w sposób przestrzenny, zanurzając słuchacza w rozległym pejzażu dźwiękowym.

NIGHTMARES zaprezentował unikalne połączenie blues-rocka i R&B w wykonaniu The J. Geils Band. Album zawiera utwór „Must of Got Lost”, który w 1974 roku osiągnął 12. miejsce na liście Billboard Hot 100.

I've waited ages for this album in quad and it was worth it. The 192/24 transfer from the original half-inch four-channel masters sounds incredible, especially the rear channel work.

The quad mix on this Blu-ray genuinely surprised me — the horns circle around the back channels in a way the stereo version never hinted at. You can tell it came straight from the original half-inch four-channel masters, everything sounds open and unprocessed.

Finally hearing this in 192/24 hi-res makes the wait worth it — the separation on the stereo mix is noticeably cleaner than my old CD. The quadraphonic version actually puts you in the middle of the band instead of just widening things, and the Blu-ray case feels solid too.
