慶祝這張具代表性、銷量數百萬張、榮登Billboard 200前十名專輯的50週年紀念，收錄WAR經典歌曲，如〈Low Rider〉、〈So〉以及同名曲目〈Why Can't We Be Friends?〉。
I grabbed the 3CD collector's edition mainly for the bonus material, and the remastered title track alone was worth it. The horns on "So" come through so much cleaner than my old copy.
The 3CD set sounds fantastic — "Low Rider" has this warm, punchy bass that really comes through, and the title track fills the room. Disc two's alternate takes are the real draw for me; I've already played them more than the original album.
The remastered version of "Low Rider" on disc one sounds so much fuller than my old copy, and I caught little percussion details I'd never noticed before. Having the 50th anniversary extras spread across three discs makes for a great Sunday afternoon listen.
